Brian will tailor the music theory classes to the style you are practising (e.g., jazz, blues, gospel, barbershop, world music). Examples of concepts include Western tonal music theory, building blocks of vertical and horizontal patterns, listening, rhythm and rhythmic patterns, note values and symbols, syncopation, chord structure, scales, harmonisation, notating and transcribing your own and others’ songs.
